A note on the layout: The two pictures of Gavroche used are by Marine d'Antibes, who does fantastic illustrations but on whom I have been unable to gather much information via the Internet. (They are scanned from a Chinese-language translation of the Gavroche bits of Les Miserables collected for children (called "Gu Xing Lei" or something, which is an alternative to "Bei Can Shi Jie") that I chanced upon in a public library some years ago.) If you can provide me with more information about this illustrator, do tell me more!

New Blog
-

I have a new blog now at alderaanian.wordpress.com! It is for short day-to-day blog entries which, I forsee, will largely supercede my hitherto long and wordy entries in the days to come due to time shortage. Don't rush to change your links though, I'm keeping this blog for longer/more reflective/more "me" entries which I'll still write from time to time. :P

Collecting Myself

I'm tempted to set up a Wordpress account like Steffy, mainly because of 2 things -

1. can upload pictures! (for 6 years I have been painstakingly uploading pictures to my geocities account and linking them, and it's so much trouble, and moreover I'm always afraid to upload pictures because one day that account will run out of space)

2. it will display Mandarin characters.

However, this is not the best of times to start up a new blog....

Back from India, in many ways a life-changing experience. A feeling of having "come of age". Currently springcleaning my room, a protracted affair (23 years' worth of archeological dig and a lot to think about). Went to CMDF-organised sharing session today and enjoyed hearing about the experiences of friends who went to other parts of the world for electives - Shanghai, Uganda, Tanzania. Baking lemon meringue pie tomorrow! Then will have VJC class reunion in the evening.

Wrap-up email to conclude my India updates to follow.
Report of electives to follow.
Finishing of my research project to follow.

School starts next week. Am looking forward to it, excited and apprehensive at the same time!

While I come up with a new entry to explain myself or what I'm going to do with my blog (which I'm not very sure of myself), here are two videos made by other people I found on YouTube, whose relevance to my online persona should not escape notice:

"All-Alderaanian Girl"

I think this video is so cute! I like the concept and the song (insert the word "Alderaanian" hahaha). Great editing.
